About the Big sell

What is The Big Sell?

The Big Sell takes place from the 1st of March, 2023 and is an opportunity to help raise funds to support the hard-working vendors of The Big Issue magazine.

You can harness your networks to spread the word and bolster online donations for one month through your very own donation platform.

Funds raised during The Big Sell 2022 provided vendors with an additional $70,000, but the truth is our work is not over yet, with the cost of living getting higher, and vendors still feeling the effects of reduced sales and low foot traffic. 

The Big Sell Challenge

For those who want to get amongst the action with The Big Issue vendors, The Big Sell Challenge will be held on the 29th of March. If you hit the fundraising target of $1,000, you and your team will be invited to book in a pitch location and time in your city, where you will can hit the streets and sell the magazine, all with the support of The Big Issue vendors. 

The Big Sell Challenge will happen all around the country on the 29th of March.

What is it for?

All proceeds from donations will go towards supporting The Big Issue and our vendors. These vital funds will help us continue to help vendors experiencing homelessness, marginalisation and disadvantage, help themselves for another 26 years and beyond. 

In 2022, the funds raised from our inaugural Big Sell campaign went directly into creating a 2-for-1 offer for The Big Issue vendors over an edition fortnight. This meant vendors could buy 2 magazines for the price of one ($4.50) and sell both at retail price ($9 each). This initiative created $70,000 in additional income for our vendors, and in 2023 we want to have an even bigger impact.

How Do I Participate?

Step 1:

Sign up

Join in The Big Sell by registering yourself, your team or your organisation.

Registrations are now open. Hit the 'Sign Up' button to create your Big Sell account and set up your fundraising page!

Step 2:

Raise funds

Use your platform to raise funds for our hard-working vendors. We will have a toolkit including lots of great assets and ideas to help you spread the word and support your fundraising target!

Step 3:

Climb the leaderboard

Keep an eye on your rank against our national leaderboard.                                                                                                                                                                                

Step 4:

Hit the Streets!

Hit the target of $1,000 or more by March 15 and have the opportunity to hit the streets and sell The Big Issue at our final Big Sell Challenge Day with support from Big Issue vendors.
