THE BIG SELL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. eVENT OVERVIEW

Participants who raise $1,000 or more will have the opportunity to sell copies of The Big Issue magazine on 8 August in Melbourne or Sydney. The goal is to sell the most copies within the allocated time and locations determined by The Big Issue.

2. Eligibility

Fundraising Requirement: Participants must raise a minimum of $1,000 in sponsorship to qualify for the event.

Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years old.

Registration: Participants must complete the official registration form and agree to these terms and conditions.

3. Event Participation

Location and Time: Participants will be assigned specific locations and if applicable, a selling partner, and times to sell magazines, as determined by The Big Issue.

Conduct: Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful and lawful manner, adhering to all local regulations and guidelines.

Materials: Magazines and any necessary materials will be provided by The Big Issue.

4. Safety and Liability

Safety: Participants must follow all safety instructions provided by The Big Issue. Participants should be aware of their surroundings and take necessary precautions while selling magazines.

Insurance: The Big Issue will provide liability insurance coverage for the event. Participants are encouraged to have their own personal insurance coverage as well.

Indemnity: By participating, registrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Big Issue, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from participation in the event. 

5. Code of Conduct

Behaviour: Participants must not engage in aggressive selling tactics, harassment, or any behaviour that could reflect poorly on The Big Issue.

Compliance: Participants must comply with all instructions from event coordinators and volunteers.

6. Media and Publicity

Consent: By participating, registrants consent to being photographed, filmed, or interviewed during the event. The Big Issue reserves the right to use these materials for promotional purposes unless requesting in writing.

Vendor photos or videos: Participants cannot share photos or videos of vendors without media consent from The Big Issue.

7. Prizes and Recognition

Top Seller: The participant who sells the most magazines will be recognized and awarded a prize, as determined by The Big Issue.

Tie-Breaker: In the event of a tie, The Big Issue will determine the winner based on additional criteria such as enthusiasm, creativity, and adherence to the event’s spirit.

8. Cancellation and Changes

Cancellation: The Big Issue reserves the right to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances. Participants will be notified as soon as possible.

Modifications: The Big Issue may modify these terms and conditions if necessary. Participants will be informed of any changes in a timely manner.

9. Agreement

By registering for the event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
